Mission
S.A.F.E. seeks to empower immigrants and vulnerable populations who have been marginalized due to their sexual orientation, gender identity, and other factors to reach their fullest potential by providing humanitarian assistance while fostering understanding and cooperation among diverse communities.
What We Do
Legal Clinics
–
SAFE has teamed up with RUSA LGBT to offer monthly legal clinics that provide monthly one-on-one consultations on immigration and other issues.
leadership recruitment
–
SAFE identifies and then collaborates with recent immigrants who would like to further their personals goals (e.g., achieving legal immigration status, finding a job, accessing healthcare, etc.) while giving back to the community. SAFE views each individual holistically and as an agent in their own empowerment rather than as a “case.”
Community building
–
SAFE connects individuals with wider communities and encourages social entrepreneurship and innovation. SAFE is proud to have helped launch ASYLUMART, a burgeoning immigrant artist collective.
"It is in our hands to define who we are, whether it be LGBTQ individuals, women, refugees, or asylees."

Our Goal
Issues surrounding immigration have been at the center of national debate in the United States, and it has never been easy for asylees, refugees, and other immigrants in need to achieve the safety and security sought for here. Now, more than ever, there is a great need for advocates and attorneys to stand strong for immigrant communities. S.A.F.E. seeks to provide direct support to those individuals seeking resources and direction navigating the process for asylum seekers and others in need of immigration-related assistance or representation.
